Eyelet Share

I recently got my eyelets from the eyelet share that I joined from Heidi over at Hedgehog Ink. It was such a great deal that I even joined the brad share and am waiting for them to arrive! I took a couple of pictures to show you them. Sorry the lighting isn't the greatest.

I got the full share for 3000 eyelets. You get 50 of each 48 colors (the colors match SU! colors), 50 of 4 neutral colors (White, Sand, Gray, Vanilla), 50 of each "fresh" color (2006-07 In-Colors) and 100 black eyelets. You get all this for only $40. I didn't think it was a bad deal. Now I need to get more cases to store all these in.

Still no cards to post.....I'm hoping to find some time later this week. Hoping is the key word!

Bella Birthday Card

Man! Have I been a bad blogger lately, or what??? I just haven't had the time to get in the craft room and play! Camryn is no longer sleeping through the night like she used to and the girls aren't napping at the same time either. They go to bed around 9pm and I am in bed shortly after that! I've just been so tired! And let's not talk about the house! It's a disaster.....and we have 2 of Emerson's birthday parties here this weekend. Not sure when I'll find the time to clean. I digress.

Here is a card that I made for my mom for her birthday. I thought it turned out pretty well! I used my Cakeabella stamp...she's just so darn cute! I think the reason I like the Bella's so much is because they remind me of me! Some days my curly hair gets a little wild and crazy and I could be Cakeabella!! I used more paper from the DCWV Glitter stack and layered it on top of Pumpkin Pie. I used some of my Prima flowers and a brad from the Target $1 spot. The birthday stamp came from Michael's $1 bin.

I have more goodies that I've made, just trying to find the time to post them all. Maybe when the girls aren't napping together, I can try to post some more stuff!! TFL!

WOW! I can't believe it's been over a week since I last blogged! Things have been crazy busy here! Rich started school again on Thursday nights. He's taking his second to last class for his MBA. I just got a part-time job at our local YMCA working in the daycare. It's not a bad gig.....they watch the girls for me for FREE, my membership is FREE AND I get paid! I plan on working just 2-3 shifts (4 hours per shift) per week. I'm not sure how I kept my head on straight before I got the job, we'll see how things go once I start!! I'll be working on Tues/Thurs. and Rich's class in on Thursday, so talk about a long day! I'll be lucky if I make it to my bed before I fall asleep! Good thing we have TiVo....I'm going to need it to tape Survivor, CSI and Grey's Anatomy! Speaking of TV, I can't wait for the new seasons to start. There just isn't much on TV during the summer, which I guess is a good thing....I was always in my craft room!!

Okay, back to my goodies I was talking about. I was at Target today, and found some goodies in their $1 bins. I got some frame/tag chipboard stickers, so brads and bling and some metallic gel pens.....all for $1! What a deal! Then since my parents were watching the girls, I thought I would stop at the dollar store up the street from my house. (Believe it or not....I had never been there until today. We moved to this house in Feb. while I was on bed rest and then after I had Camryn, I don't go to many stores with both girls. Too crazy for me!) Anyway, I got the jumbo paper clips and some round clothespins. I finally got the flower die cuts for my Cuttlebug and thought I would give the clips a try for some possible Christmas gifts. For the clothespins, I have some misc. ribbon that I thought I would wrap around them. For $1, figured I couldn't go wrong.

I've got lots of things that I've been making so I'll be posting them soon! TFL!

Almost Done!

Here is a project that I have been working on for my neighbor. She sells Avon and is doing a huge open house party and wanted some cute invitations. I had been wanting the "Say Charge" stamp set from My Favorite Things and this was my excuse the finally get it! She wanted the colors to be red, black and white. So, I used Basic Black as the card base and cuttlebugged D'Vine Swirls on Real Red. I stamped the image on Whisper White and did lots of coloring! So much that I got a blister on my finger! I wanted to use my watercolor pencils and Gamsol to color in the ladies, but I only have the SU! color pencils and didn't have the colors that I wanted to use, so I used my tried and true blender pens. I used Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou, Creamy Caramel, Blush Blossom and used Real Red marker for the dots and Basic Black marker for the shoes. I ended up printing the saying off my computer because the saying from the set didn't fit on the word window punch I was using. I completed the card with black gingham ribbon.

To put the open house information inside the card, I printed it on my computer and then used the slit punch to hold it in place (saving on adhesive!), until my darn punch broke! I couldn't believe it. I was only in about 5 cards of 40! Needless to say, I'll be sending it back to get a replacement....I love that punch! I hope she likes them as much as I do! TFL.

This card is for the color challenge using Groovy Guava and Always Artichoke. I really struggled with this challenge because I usually use some sort of pattern paper on my cards, but I didn't have any that matched this combo. I will add that to my shopping list!


I used Always Artichoke for my card base and layered with textured Groovy Guava, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla. I stamped Mixed Bouquet on the Very Vanilla and cut out the leaves in Always Artichoke. I added 3 big brushed silver eyelets and stamped "friend" in the bottom right corner. Nothing fancy...didn't have time when I did it.....I was trying to get it made before I had to make lunch...and wouldn't you know....Emerson wanted to eat early today!

Craft Room - Part 2

Here are some more pictures of the craft room. First, here are a couple views of the closet. It's not very big, and as you can see I am utilizing every square inch of it!

In the upper part of the closet, there are 5 shelves. We have 9' ceilings on the main floor of our house, so you can't even see the top 2 shelves of the closet. But they sure do come in handy to store things. In the boxes with the pink lids, I store pre-made notes cards, extra/duplicate ribbon, & misc. keepsakes. On believe it or not, there's even an empty box with the plastic still on it! Next to those boxes in the white one from IKEA is where I store gifts, such as note pads, pens, etc. to put in paint cans or gift baskets. In the sage green box is my handy dandy label maker. I don't think I could live without it! Underneath that in the white IKEA boxes is where I store my A2 envelopes and underneath that is another empty box! Crazy, I know! In the plastic pull-out drawers to the right of the white boxes is where I store misc. odds and ends. Things that don't really have a home and I just need a place to stash them. In the silver crate, I store gifts to alter.....composition notebooks, mini photo albums, clipboards, journals, photo box frames, paint cans, lunch tins, etc. In the SU! clear box, I store my cards that I have made according to their category. In the baskets are a variety of envelopes so I can have them right at hand, cards people have given me and the last one is empty.

In the lower part of the closet is where I store my stamp sets. I store them according to catergory....Sentiments, Alphabets/Numbers, Flowers/Animals/Bugs, Backgrounds/Wheels/Misc., Tags, Holiday, & General. I have about 70 stamps sets, not including misc. individual stamps, wheels, acrylics and unmounted stamps. I store my 12 x 12 papers and paper stacks in the upper part of the cubes. In the tall plastic drawers, I store bigger embellishments, stuff for my calendar projects (you can see them at my SCS gallery), my acrylics and unmounted stamps, my projects for my acrylic post-it note holders, and stamps in the bottom 2.

On the back of the doors to the craft room, I have a hanging shoe holder ($6.99) This is where all the little things that don't have a home go.

Time to give the kids a bath. I will have to finish up the rest of the room pictures tomorrow. TFL!

My Craft Room

Well, I decided to take some pictures of my craft room since I had to clean it. I had to clean it because I plan on playing in here all day tomorrow and can't play when it's already messy!




The room is kinda small...it's only 8 x 11. Went we built the house, I thought it would be plenty of space, but I feel like I am already bursting at the seams! This is just my temporary room...once we finish the basement, in 6+ years, I'll move my craft room down there. But with two little ones, I thought is was important to be on the same floor while they were young. (Some days when Emerson gets into everything, I wish it was in the basement!)





Everything in the room is stuff I already had....it's kind of a modpodge of "a little of this and a little of that". When you open the double doors, and look to the left, you'll see my desk. The desk used to be my husbands desk from when he was a child. I painted it and put new hardward on it. In our old house it used to be my sewing desk. (That makes it sound like I do a lot of sewing or something....and I don't. I can do straight lines and that's about it!) The desk was very narrow and didn't give me much surface area to spread everything out when I was working. So we bought a pre-cut piece 4 x 6 of MDF with white laminate on it and put it on top of the desk. Not ideal, but it works for now and cost under $10. Can't beat that! In the drawers on the left, I store my watercolor pencils, chalk, markers, adhesive, etc. In the plastic drawers to the right of the desk I store pictures for when I start my scrapbooking and in the larger bottom drawer is where I store my scrap papers. Each color has its own folder (it's easier for me to find it that way.)



The ribbon on the desk is the ribbon that I use the most. It's stored in an old sticker dispenser that I got from my mom (she works at a dentist office and if you were good....you'd get a sticker!) It can be hung on the wall, but decided not to do that for now, so it just sits on the desk.



You can see my ink pads and re-inkers in my SU! Color Caddy. My punches are hanging on the wall with bars from the kitchen dept. at IKEA as well as the tin buckets with my hand-held punches, scissors and misc. markers, pens, etc.



Up above my punches is more ribbon. Gotta love ribbon! They are wide mouth canning jars. Each jar has a color assortment in them as well as a jar for scraps, ric-rac and misc. buttons.

To the right of the desk in my white cabinet that I store my paper in. On the front is my "WISH LIST" of goodies that I want on a clipboard. And you can see on the front I have my child lock on there to keep Emerson out of there. Now...inside the cabinet.....in the mini drawers on the top shelve is my stapler and decorative staples, embossing powders and all my cuttlebug folders and accessories. In the other 3-drawer shelve is my blades and scorer for my paper cutter and misc. tools (hammer, paper piercer, bone folder, exacto knife, etc.)

The next shelf down is my paper. It's assorted by color family. The next two shelves have my 8 x 8 paper, a current project I'm working on as well as extra paper that doesn't fit in with the other paper, magazines, idea books, misc. paper and whatever else doesn't have a home!
